Rowden Lane is located on the southern fringe of Chippenham.
The site, approximately 13.5 acres in total, was held under a number of options and subsequently allocated for residential development having been successfully promoted through the review of the North Wiltshire Local Plan.
The key planning, design and technical issues to be addressed included:
- The sites adverse planning history;
- Multiple land ownership;
- Sensitive location on the urban fringe overlooking the Avon River Valley;
- Restricted highway access.
Planning permission was granted for 138 two storey dwellings following a four day Inquiry, the Council having failed to determine the original application.Case Studies
